Abstract

The time evolution of a system characterized by a Hückel Hamiltonian is studied. The model employed is that of electron (or excitation) transfer in a linear chain. Exact solutions are obtained for Green's function, rate and transition functions, the lifetime, and the master equation for the transfer.
