Abstract
With the use of a highly sensitive chemical potential difference detector, critical heat current densities for superfluid turbulence in the temperature range of 1.15 to 2.14 K have been measured in a large rectangular glass channel and are compared with the Vinen model. The temperature dependence of χ1χ2 is found to be in fair agreement with the Schwarz theory in the range of 1.15 to 1.6 K, but significant deviations from theory in the high-temperature range (> 1.6 K) are observed.
