Abstract

Sentences containing adverbial locutions were presented to either the left or the right ear in a dichotic listening task, and Ss were timed as to how long it took them to judge the sentences as true or false. Responses were faster to sentences presented to the right ear than to the left ear, thus showing a lateralization effect with sentences as stimuli. No interaction was found between ear attended to and the type of adverb (time or place).
