Abstract
An 80-year-old man, admitted with an acute abdominal condition due to a necrotizing leiomyoma of the jejunum, required immediate surgery. After resection of the tumor the patient made a good recovery, and he has remained well. The rarity of such cases is emphasized and the literature reviewed.
