N2 - The purpose of this chapter is to describe the use of Lie-theoretic methods in the study of pro-p Groupss. I shall also discuss briefly some related objects, such as finite p-groups and residually finite groups. Aspects of this topic feature in several books and survey papers; see for instance [62], [45] Chapter VIII, [42], [137], [27], [57], [58], [148], [121]. In this survey I will try to focus on the most recent developments and applications, which are mostly not covered in the sources mentioned above.
