Abstract
The authors present high-resolution measurements of the Auger M 5N67N67 transitions of Au, Pt and W. All the lines studied are narrower than 2 eV. They also measured the atomic sensitivities for the above Auger transitions with a resolution of 0.4% of the Auger energy (somewhat better than commonly available). With this resolution it is impossible to resolve fine structure and gross errors are incurred in the measurements of Auger signals. They corrected the measured sensitivities with the method developed previously; the correction factors for the sensitivities are around ten. These large factors represent also the errors incurred in the as-measured sensitivities if no correction is applied.
