Abstract
A 41-year-old woman underwent transcatheter oily chemoembolization, following a modified extended right hepatectomy for hepatocellular carcinoma. Four days after the procedure, the patient developed headache, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, and a fever. Computerized tomography of the abdomen revealed infarction of the liver and spleen. This complication has not been previously reported in a patient with normal portal venous flow to the liver and may have been due to her previous surgery.
