Abstract

HS pregnant mice were fed milled mouse food containing 3 g/kg acid form phenobarbital (PhB) and water as their only nutritional source, from gestation days 9 to 19. Twenty four hours after the last injection the animals were killed and the activity of the hepatic microsomal drug metabolizing system was determined in vitro. The injections of 50 mg pentobarbital (PenB) prior to testing were not sufficient to increase the enzyme activity.
