Abstract

Mössbauer studies have been performed on thin films of βFe2O3 deposited on fused silica or polycrystalline alumina. All the Mössbauer spectra are composed of two subspectra with relative intensities of 3:1. The parameters of the hyperfine interactions in 57Fe below and above the ordering temperature (106.5 ± 1.5 K) were determined.
