Abstract

Recoilless absorption studies of several gadolinium compounds yield the following nuclear parameters for the 86.5 keV level of 155Gd: I(86.5) = 5 2; g(86.5)/g(0) = 1.22 ± 0.01 and Q(86.5)/Q(0) = 0.12 ± 0.01. These parameters can be explained only by assuming strong band mixing.
