Abstract
Aharony has suggested recently a simple magnetic frustration model for the pairing of holes in high-Tc materials and evaluated the binding energy within an Ising-model framework. We explore the same pairing mechanism within the more realistic Heisenberg model and find that the binding energies are smaller compared to the results from the Ising model. In addition, the possibility of clusters of holes instead of simple pairs is discussed. Finally we show that nearby planes can reduce the binding energy for some regions of parameters.
