Abstract

Magnetization studies of new f.c.c. RAuNi₄ intermetallic compounds were performed. The compounds with R = Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho and Er are ferromagnetically ordered at temperatures ranging from 14 to 38K. Two ferromagnetic transitions were observed in the magnetization curves. TmAuNi₄ and YbAuNi₄ exhibit paramagnetic behaviour for temperatures as low as 4.2 K.
