Abstract

Magnetization studies of new f.c.c. RAuNi4 intermetallic compounds were performed. The compounds with R = Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho and Er are ferromagnetically ordered at temperatures ranging from 14 to 38K. Two ferromagnetic transitions were observed in the magnetization curves. TmAuNi4 and YbAuNi4 exhibit paramagnetic behaviour for temperatures as low as 4.2 K.
