Abstract

By using the technique of pulse radiolysis to generate OH· radicals, we have determined through the competition with SCN-, I- and Fe(CN)4-6 the rate constant of mannitol with OH· radical at pH = 7 to be (1·8 ± 0·4) × 109 M-1 s-1.
