Abstract
Development of a tropical cyclone (TC) with various values of the Coriolis parameter is studied based on a 12-level axially symmetric TC model. Numerical experiments showed that the initial disturbance develops into a hurricane, which reaches greatest intensity in the 10-15 degree range of latitudes, i. e. , at latitudes where the formation and development of TC in nature occurs most often. TC development did not occur with values of the Coriolis parameter corresponding to latitudes lower than 2 degree and higher than 30 degree , which coincides with the boundaries of a range of latitudes in which the formation and development of TC occur. Results are interpreted. Based on the results of numerical experiments, instead of the Coriolis parameter, a parameter which considers the real influence of the Coriolis force on the development of TC is introduced to the seasonal potential of formation.
