Abstract
Anorexia nervosa (AN) is the leading cause of death from a psychiatric disorder amongst women. Development of an animal model (AM) has been difficult because the etiology of AN is multifactorial and involves the interaction of environmental, genetic, cultural and social factors. A combination of in vitro, in vivo and in silico models could lead to better understanding and development of therapeutic paradigms for this disease.
