Abstract
Molecular genetics provides the ability to uncover numerous and versatile genetic markers at the DNA level. At present, the most useful among these are restriction fragment length polymorphisms (RFLPs). We discuss here the possible applications of these methodologies to the genetic improvement of farms animals.
