Abstract

We review the history of multidimensional Nova simulations starting with the motivation and first steps of dimensional analysis. A review of the up to date published research is given, summarizing the main conclusions derived from the results of the existing computational tools. We try to analyze the difficulties that such simulations are facing and we suggest that most of the differences between existing calculations are due to specific numerical problems that we can demonstrate. The review ends with a discussion about the analytic and computational improvements needed in order to improve our knowledge of the mixing process.
