Abstract

Multiphonon relaxation rates are calculated for all levels of the 4f12 configuration of Tm3+ incorporated in phosphate, borate, germanate and tellurite glasses. The level fluorescence lifetimes are derived from these rates and from previously calculated radiative transition probabilities.
