Abstract
Multiple emulsions of water in oil in water (W/O/W) have been used as a novel technique to overcome unpleasant taste of drugs. The drug is dissolved in the inner water phase and is released throughout the oil phase in the presence of synthetic gastric juice. Yield of preparation and stability have been studied using various sets of different inner (emulsifier I) and outer (emulsifier II) emulsifiers. Combination of anionic-nonionic emulsifiers yielded optimal results: High yield of preparation, high stability and complete release of the drug in synthetic gastric juice.
