Abstract
The many-body scattering t matrix is expanded into a finite and exact multiple scattering series in which each two-body scattering operator is modified by local field effects arising from all constituents of the target system not previously involved in the scattering. A natural three-body approximation is shown to follow for our first-order optical potential with local field corrections.
