Abstract
The term religionization has become a significant component in the study of Israeli sociology in recent years. While usually referred to as a homogeneous social trend, this study makes a distinction between three diverse kinds of religionization: naïve religionization, religious-religionization, and national-religionization. Our study of the plans and policies of the Israeli Ministry of Education and the statements of the Minister of Education will demonstrate that the Ministry promotes national-religionization rather than religious-religionization for its own sake, due in part to a specific political agenda.
