Near-field amplitude and phase measurements of photonic crystal waveguides

We use a heterodyne scanning nearfield optical microscope to measure the amplitude and phase of the nearfield around silicon photonic crystal waveguides. The obtained subwavelength-resolution images were used to analyze light propagation in the waveguides.
