Abstract

A neutrino mass will cause a dispersion in the arrival time of a neutrino burst from a supernova explosion. Such a dispersion may reduce the sensitivity of neutrino detectors to such bursts. Detection of a dispersed neutrino burst could yield a direct measurement of the neutrino mass if it is in the range mν≳0.1 eV.
