Abstract
Trajectories of geomagnetically trapped particles under the action of the longitudinal field of a monochromatic wave of constant amplitude are determined. This information is used to compute the nonlinear decrement of fading of geomagnetic pulsations at bounce resonance. The results are applied to an examination of interactions in the magnetospheric plasma between particles and Alfven waves and between particles and fast magnetoacoustic waves.
