Abstract

We present our design of waveguides for nonlinear interactions constructed of a nonlinear core of nanoparticles within a polymer host. A homogeneous layer of nanocomposite at 1.3% volume concentration is demonstrated and also the integration of this nanocomposite layer within the waveguide. A propagation loss of 6.56 dB/cm was measured for 2×5.3μm2 rib NL waveguide.
