Abstract
The practicality of recently acquired knowledge on nutritional regulation of immunity includes: improved response to immunization, the use of immunologic tests in nutritional assessment prediction of post-operative sepsis, prevention of opportunistic infections, use of immunomodulators, and planning for intervention strategies to deal with malnutrition and infection.
