Abstract

The size dependence of the pressure-induced direct-to-indirect band gap transitions in InP nanocrystals was studied experimentally and theoretically. This system was chosen because it is ideal for exploring quantum confinement away from the Γ point. Experimental and theoretical results indicate the occurrence of the Γ-X transition in the nanocrystals.
