N2 - The occurrence of saturated (14:0, 15:0, 16:0, and 18:0), and unsaturated (7?16:1, 7?18:1, 9?18:1, 9,12?18:2, 9,12,15?18:3) acids, together with novel cyclic sulfur-containing fatty acids in garlic (Allium sativum) is reported. Organosulfur compounds, fatty acids, and sulfur-containing fatty acids were separated and characterized by GC?MS with serially coupled capillary columns with consecutive nonpolar and semipolar stationary phases.
