On-chip beam positioning sensor via frequency locked cascaded ring resonators

Abstract

We present a novel technique for on-chip beam positioning, based on tracking the thermo-optic driven spectral resonance shifts between two cascaded microring resonators vs. the position of an NSOM tip which illuminates the structure.
