Abstract

A strong negative answer is given to the old question of whether every dual group is reflexive. Using {lozenge, open}_ω1 a group A is constructed so that A, A*, A**, and A*** are weakly ω₁-separable groups of cardinality ω₁ and A* is not isomorphic to A***.
