Abstract
The electron-electron collision rate is shown to be small for energies in the neighborhood of the Fermi surface and to increase appreciably for energies somewhat removed from it. This behavior is traced to the increasing ineffectiveness of the ionic screening as the electron departs in energy from the Fermi surface.
