On the occurrence of Hippocampus fuscus in the eastern Mediterranean

Abstract

The western Indian Ocean seahorse Hippocampus fuscus is recorded for the first time in the Mediterranean. Its presence there is probably due to migration from the Red Sea via the Suez Canal.
