Abstract

In the spermatophore of soft ticks spermine has been found in the semen, as well as in the proteinous sacs, at much higher concentration. The spermine can be seen under the microscope to form needle-like crystals which are shown to be spermine phosphate. This is the first time that spermine has been reported in the Arthropoda.
