Abstract
A simple procedure due to Layzer and Garstang for estimating the reliability of calculated dipole-length transition integrals is re-examined. Some recent Hartree-Fock f-values of Ghoshal, Dutta and Sengupta for helium-sequence transitions are analyzed and corrected, and are shown to be of generally high accuracy.
