Abstract

Experimental results for a range of antiprotonic atoms and for the elastic scattering of 47 MeV antiprotons by C are analysed using the optical model. Unambiguous potentials are found for antiprotonic atoms. Model independent potentials are obtained at 46 MeV and these are approximated by finite range potentials which also give a very good fit to the antiprotonic atom data.
