Abstract
This contribution examines three pieces of Israeli legislation that provide for extraterritorial jurisdiction based on the Jewishness of persons involved. It examines the compatibility of this legislation with existing permissive rules on extraterritorial jurisdiction and the manner in which Israel’s self-perception as the state of the Jewish people informs the evaluation of jurisdictional links. The contribution then considers Israel’s legal relations with world Jewry as they come forth from the legislation discussed.
