Abstract

The paramagnetic resonance spectrum of Gd3+ in LaCl3•7H2O was measured and found to agree quite well with a spin Hamiltonian with dominant coefficients b20=±0.0131 cm-1, b22=0.0075 cm-1 at room temperature, and b20=±0.0099 cm-1, b22=0.0115 cm-1 at liquid air temperature.
