Abstract
Sodium self-diffusion coefficient and various parameters related to the particle size and shape were measured as a function of the ionic fraction of exchangeable Na in mixed Na-Ca montmorillonite suspensions. It was possible to calculate with reasonable accuracy the Na self-diffusion coefficient at varying Na-Ca ratios from that of the pure Na clay suspension.
