Abstract
Ovarian cancer, consists predominantly of ovarian carcinoma, of which high-grade serous carcinoma is the most common and most clinically aggressive histotype. Recent studies, focusing mainly on the latter histotype, have highlighted the critical role of miRNA in regulating processes that are central to the biology and clinical behavior of this cancer. In addition to intracellular miRNAs, knowledge has been gained regarding extracellular miRNAs, including those packed in exosomes, and their central role in cross-talk between tumor and host cells. This chapter reviews selected studies focusing on the role of miRNAs in ovarian cancer that have been published in recent years.
