Abstract
Various aspects of security in public transport in Israel and solutions implemented by operators and passenger's perceptions of security are discussed. The public transport security consists of public reporting points in main transport terminals and security personnel authorized to survey passenger baggage at entrances to terminals. The Israeli security policy package is complemented by the Law for security in Public Establishments in Israel, which defines the authorized actions. The security system helps to prevent criminal activities and creates a stronger feeling of passenger security.
