Abstract

A continuum model for the phase separation and coarsening in electrostatically driven granular media was formulated. The model was based on Ginzburg-Landau eqations subject to conservation of the total number of grains. The continuum model was used to derive equations that governed the dynamics of the interphase boundary in the regime of well-developed clusters. Qualitative and quantitative predictions were also presented.
