Abstract

Solitons in CdZnTe:V which possesed resonant photorefractive nonlinearity was presented. Control over the resonance intensity was demonstrated using background illumination at wavelength different from soliton. This facilitated narrow solitons at intensities higher than those obtained only by thermal excitation. It was estimated that by using light emerging from optical fibers, narrow photorefractive solitons could be formed within 100 nanosecond.
