Abstract

Photosensitized reductions of anthraquinone sulphonates in SiO₂ colloids are mediated by propyl viologen sulphonate (PVS^o) (1) as a primary electron acceptor; reduction yields are affected by electrostatic repulsions of the reduced acceptors from the negatively charged colloid.
