Abstract

This is a revised and updated edition of the book first published in 1988 and abstracted as 89V/01715. It attempts to trace the transformations that have occurred in Africa in the wake of the persisting economic crisis on the continent, and to place developments in Africa within the context of the susbtantial shifts in global structures and priorities. The authors also adopt a political interaction approach instead of the political choice framework initially developed in the first edition. -M.Amos
