Abstract

A group of elastomeric polymers has been developed, based on the trimerization of diisocyanates resulting in isocyanurate rings, and the subsequent reaction of the free isocyanate moieties with various polyether glycols. By properly selecting the different components of the system (e. g. molecular weight, hydrophilicity) a variety of polymers were obtained. An account of the synthesis and basic properties of polyether isocyanurate (PEI) matrices is presented.
