Abstract

Judit Bokser Liwerant has offered a unique sociopolitical fresco illustrating her invaluable contribution to defining the boundaries of a research field and filling it with ground-breaking content. The response argues for the Utopian character of much of the Jewish hopes and expectations facing surrounding societies in historical perspective. It also outlines a research road map, largely inspired by the awardee, toward future research.
