Abstract

The results of numerical experiments to determine the upper and lower limits of the range of stable wavelengths in two-dimensional models of dry and moist cellular convection are presented. It is shown that the range of stable wavelengths is considerably broader in the moist-convection than in the dry-convection model; however, shorter wavelengths were found to be stable in the dry than in the moist model.
