Abstract

The ratio of the reaction cross sections for π- and π+ mesons has been measured for a series of nuclei over the momentum range from 0.71 to 2.0 GeV/c. An analysis of the results for C and Pb is presented and compared with the predictions of a variety of nuclear models.
