Abstract

We demonstrate the existence of a correlation between the gadolinium g shift and Miedema's heats of formation in AB2 intermetallic compounds, where A La or Y and B is a transition metal element belonging to group VIII of the periodic table. Also the superconductivity of these intermetallic compounds is related to their stability.
