Abstract

This article has been retracted by the publisher, in agreement with the journal editors, following verification that the scroll fragments discussed in the article are modern forgeries. The decision to retract was taken in order to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record. The retraction does not reflect a judgement on the author's intentions, but on the reliability of the material on which the article is based. The original article remains available online to preserve the scholarly record but is clearly marked as retracted.
